    REQUEST FROM THE SCHROON LAKE ASSOCIATION,

    PARADOX LAKE ASSOCIATION

     AND THE TOWN OF SCHROON!


    YOU CAN VOLUNTEER OR CHOOSE TO

    WORK AS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE TOWN OF SCHROON!

     As the 2018 boating season approaches we are looking to our lake association members and members of the community to help protect our lakes.  There are positions open for the Decontamination (boat wash) station on Rt. 74 just east of the Schroon River bridge as well as for lake stewards at both the Schroon Lake Village boat launch  and the boat launch at the State Campground on Paradox Lake.  Training is required and offered for each position.  Both jobs pay $11.08 per hour.

    Another Sweep/Harvest of the Inlet area was scheduled because this has been a "hot spot" and an increasing number of plants have been found each year.  We were fortunate enough to have three volunteer divers and couple snorkelers/mudders available for this event which allowed us to harvest roughly 900 plants.

    Liz Reid was able to recruit the help of (3) scouts from the lower lake to assist.

    It was a beautiful clear morning when Liz located a large milfoil plant with a couple other small ones near it. It was about 50 yards from the Buoy on the north side heading into the lower lake in about 7 feet of water.
