This message is just a follow up, and to report back that our first attempt to clean the bottom of our lake between the narrows and the state campsite was a success.
My son Emery Jr. and I spent about two hours yesterday in the water with help from Katie Danbury as our surface support person. We started at the narrows and made our way south along the shoreline and stopped in front of the campsite small access road leading to the water (just before the public beach area). The following items were removed:
One fishing pole
One coffee pot
Three old 15" car tires
Forty three bottles and cans (mostly cans)
All of the above items were found in six to twelve feet of water. Time and boat traffic stopped us from getting any more area done. Our plan is to complete Dark Bay ASAP.
Regards to all. Emery Dergosits
Who else will get out there with a mask and snorkle and help out in your own area? Who knows what you'll find!!
