Grass Island Sweep
Early in the morning on July 9, a small group of volunteers (2) Divers and (3) Scouts performed a sweep of the area on the west side of Grass Island where numerous plants had been marked.
The weather was less than ideal, with clouds and a light rain at times before the sun poked out which finally helped visibility.
This area has been one of the (3) most affected areas on the Upper lake and had previous attention this year by both snorkelers and single divers.
In this sweep alone over 400 milfoil plants were harvested with some left behind to return to under better conditions.
We really appreciate their hardwork and dedication!
